Review of Kevin Trudeau's book "The Weight Loss Cure They Don't Want You To Know About"
I have read Kevin Trudeau's book about the HCG Diet and have many questions. At this point, I am sure that many of you have already read this book. If you have not, here are a few impressions I had.

Kevin's writing style is quick and easy to read. It is obvious that he is very passionate about the subject and it seems he is fairly well educated on the subject. He also makes many references to his personal experience with the HCG-diet and that lends an air of credibility to his story.
I think it would serve better for me to lay out the parts that helped me and those that didn’t help so much. My goal is to explain my thoughts and feelings, but not provide a professional critique.
Helpful:
• Enthusiasm- Kevin Trudeau really does feel strongly about the subject. His writing style really shows this. Actually, it borders on fanatical. Never-the-less, his energetic messages went a very long way generate very passionate feelings in me.
• Diet information- The information about the HCG-diet and its history were very helpful to me. Kevin does a good job of discussing what the diet is and what it will take to get through it. He does acknowledge that it isn’t necessarily an easy diet, but asserts that it is effective.
• Food industry information- Kevin raises many interesting points about the food industry at large. Actually he does just about everything in his power to paint the food industry as an evil and cunning empire that has knowingly caused the obesity levels to rise in an effort to gain ever rising profits.
• Natural foods information- I had no idea about how foods are produced in the United States. I also had no idea how the processes these foods are made with can affect the human body. Kevin Trudeau really opened my eyes to a lot of information about this and for this one part alone I feel like my money was well spent.
• Do and don’t list - If the information about natural foods didn’t make this book worth it for me, this list did. There are several issues covered in the book and it seems to me that most of it can be condensed to these lists. Kevin claims one can lose significant weight just by abiding to the rules in these lists. I am not a doctor, but most of it makes good sense to me.
Not So Helpful:
• Kevin Trudeau’s history - Let’s face it folks, Kevin Trudeau’s track record and public reputation aren’t the best out there. I will not repeat many of the things I have read about him and his brushes with the law, but knowledge of those issues made me skeptical from the beginning.
• Repetitive- I didn’t take the time to count but I know that there are way too many variations of the word “fact” (“factually”, “in fact”, “known fact”, etc.) in this book. It is so prevalent that it becomes comical.
• Repetitive- (I know I am repeating myself, but if he can do it and make a national best-seller…I think I can get away with it every now and then!!). Anyway, the entire book seems to be the same four or five topics repeated in several ways and many times.
• Fanatical- The material borders on the fanatical and at times it seems like it is written by a zealot instead of an author. Be prepared for a good dose of the extreme.
• Conspiracy theories- Keeping in tune with the fever pitch tune of the book, many conspiracy theories are presented. They range from the comparisons of the international food companies to the big tobacco companies to insinuations of murder to protect profits. While it was entertaining, it did not fit well for me in a book that I thought was supposed to tell me how I could cure myself of a long term overweight condition.
